Notes
Good in aircraft and move to door. Good hotel check. On exit: slight de-arch and head down. First circle of awareness at 12,500ft. Recieved "legs together and out" from secondary instructor: responded. 3x practice pulls: missed handle on first two. Slow down and make it smoother. Second cicle of awareness: recieved legs out signal. Your arms moved forward a bit during the skydive. Good altitude awareness in free-time. Good signal at 5,500ft and pull and recovery. Good canopy control. Level 2 next.

Notes
Good in aircraft and in door. Keep your head down ;-) On exit: slight de-arch and head down a bit. Take your time getting into first circle of awareness. First circle at 12,000ft. Legs together, out, and arch. Responded well. 1st practice pull missed. Second good. Arch more if you can't see the handle. Good forward movement. Good in free time but more legs out signals. 5,000ft signal a bit high but a good pull   recovery. Good canopy control. Level 3 next.

Notes
Good in aircraft and in door. Slight de-arch and kick on exit. First circle of awareness at 11,000ft. Legs togther. Arch and legs out. Practice pull missed. Jump masters released. More legs out signals. They will feel like they are straight. Good altitude awareness and good pull at 5,000ft. Good canopy control. Level 4 next.

Gear: Maverone Zerox Altitutde: 13,000ft Delay: 45s Total Time: 2m 55s
Manoeuvre: AFF Level 4: Rhino
Notes
Good in aircraft, good in door. Head was down slightly on exit and you spent 7-8 seconds kicking your legs - DONT'T!! It doesn't help. Legs very close together on C.O.A. and rigid body. Went into left spin on release for a couple of revolutions- instructor stopped. Left invol turn on release, right turn signal given. Your were bending body at waist with your right arm back which compounded the problem. Relax and arch. Head shake at 6,000ft. Hand flash and pull at 5,000ft. Flared high. Level 4+ next.

Jump No: 6 Date: 05/09/97 Place: Sibson Aircraft: Lett 410
Gear: Raider Zerox Altitutde: 13,000ft Delay: 45s Total Time: 3m 40s
Manoeuvre: AFF Level 4+: Rhino
Notes
Good aircraft drills, good exit but still kicking legs - just arch! Took time to get comfortable before C.O.A. - arms moved forward by instructor. Performed 2x linked 90 degree turns (left and right). Instructor released and started slow invol right but sleft corrected and maintained heading. Right turn signal given but slow response before head shake at 6,000ft and good pull at 5,000ft. You flared at 40ft - it should be 10ft. Level 5 next.

Jump No: 7 Date: 05/09/97 Place: Sibson Aircraft: Lett 410
Gear: Raider Zerox Altitutde: 13,000ft Delay: 45s Total Time: 4m 25s
Manoeuvre: AFF Level 5: Rhino
Notes
Good in aircraft. Very good solo dive exit. Settled into vertical position after a couple of leg kicks. Circle of awareness at 12,000ft. Recieved "straighted legs." Slight invol right turn self corrected. Left turn signal given - good steady turn but thrashing legs around a litlle, overshot turn slightly. Another invol turn self corrected followed by 360 degree right turn on signal. Again a little leg kicking - keep them still. Altitude aware throughout. Good head shack, flash, and pull. Level 6 next.

Jump No: 8 Date: 11/09/97 Place: Sibson Aircraft: Lett 410
Gear: Maverone Zerox Altitutde: 13,000 Delay: 45s Total Time: 5m 10s
Manoeuvre: Aff Level 6: Rhino
Notes
Good dive exit although a little steep. Rigid body position was making you buffet - good response to "relax." Three attempts at back-loop but you were kicking your legs down rather than bringing your knees up to your chest, effectively canceling out the effort put in by your arms. Good tracking initially but turned right at the end - try to keep your heading. Head shake at 6,000ft. Good pull at 5,000ft. Repeat Level 5.

Note: left shoulder subluxated on first back-loop attempt. At the time I believed it as a pulled muscle.

Gear: Maverone Zerox Altitutde: 10,000ft Delay: 30 Total Time: 5m 40s
Manoeuvre: AFF Level 6: Rhino
Notes
Dive exit OK but legs a little straight - keep them tucked up on the dive. Executed back loops - loads better than last attempted because using legs properly. Paused on back for a second then arched to stable. Excelent tracking - straight and fast. Try not to clench your fists though. Altitude aware througout. Good wave and pull at 5,000ft. Level 7 next.

Good dive exit. Good back loop. On turns: chill out and relax. Look and lift. Keep your legs still. On track keep your arms out a bit. A bit of turn. Chill out Rob. Good alti awareness and wave at 5,000ft. Slight turn on pull.

Notes
Good stable dive exit. Good position. On turns you were still moving your legs a bit but turns were good. The you made a good track which was striaght. Good alti awareness and wave and pull at 4,500. Ya Hooo! - Level 8 Next

Manoeuvre: AFF Refresher: Rhino
Notes
Good in aircraft, good position in door but dived down a bit on exit. Spent 4 seconds unstable but responded well to arch. Slight invol left turn stopped by instructor. Repsonded well to relax. 2x goof practice pulls. 270 degree invol left stopped by instructor. Right turn signal given but far too aggressive. You tried to sling your legs around to gain momentum. Use the top of your body to turn, look, and lift. Too much speed in turn- stopped by instructor. A few more seconds of good no contact. Good wave and pull. You tend to thrash your legs around a bit don't it doesn't help. Good canopy control. Welcome back!

Notes
Good aircraft drills. Good in door. More of a dive exit, try to keep on aircraft heading. Slight kick, got stable well. Invol left 360 stopped by instructor. First attempt at turn moved legs. Second attempt good, too agressive and bent legs during turn. Good (fast) 360 degree right turn. Good 360 degree left turnm same again with legs. Stopped at 6,000ft. Good pull and recovery at 5,000ft. Back-loops and tracking next!

Level 8 practice. De-arched and head down but remained stable. Did a practice pull. Two back loops paused half way through each. Tracked for about 5 seconds. Rounded shoulders and felt loads more speed. No more work from 7,000ft onwards. Wave and pull at 4,000ft. Twists in lines - kicked out. Flared high.

Notes
Stabilised and performed two practice pulls. Practiced locating cutaway and reserve handles in free fall. Performed two tracks and kept head back so both were straight and no chance of instability. Did some slow turns. Pulled at 5,000ft. Practiced stalling canopy. Flared too high and not enough on landing.

Gear: Teardrop / COE-D 190 Altitutde: 13,000 Delay: 55s Total Time: 19m 47s
Manoeuvre: Consol Ten: Solo
Notes
On dive exit - should dive out facing the airflow. Not down the side of the plane - it makes me go unstable. 1 good back loop. Two 360 turns. A good track. No more work after 6,000ft. Wave and pull at 4,000ft. Spent 1s looking for toggle. Flared around the right height but probably not enough.

Jump No: 29 Date: 02/02/99 Place: Headcorn Aircraft: Porter
Gear: Teardrop / COE-D 190 Altitutde: 12,000 Delay: 35s Total Time: 20m 24s
Manoeuvre: Front loop
Notes
Dive exit. Didn't go unstable. Probably kicked legs a bit. Did a few slow, controlled, turns. A practice pull - ok. Turned 90 degrees to runway and did a short track. Front loop! Went quite well. Just bent head and waist forward. Wave and pull at 5,000ft. Practice stall and a few practice flares. Flared on radio signal but went too far and stalled canopy.

Jump No: 30 Date: 20/02/99 Place: Headcorn Aircraft: Islander
Gear: Teardrop / COE-D 190 Altitutde: 10,000 Delay: 35s Total Time: 20m 59s
Manoeuvre: Solo
Notes
Did a steep track with arms crossed then dipped head forward and front looped. Ended up in a sit-fly for a couple of seconds and rolled off it. Dipped a leg down and went spinning around very fast. Stopped. Did a short track. Pulled at 4,000ft. Should've flared a little more. Turned on approach too low. Too violent on spiral turns.

Jump No: 31 Date: 16/03/99 Place: Headcorn Aircraft: Porter
Gear: Teardrop / COE-D 190 Altitutde: 10,500 Delay: 40s Total Time:21m 39s
Manoeuvre: Tracking
Notes
Rolled a little on exit. Stabilised. Did a few tracks. Probably a bit steep. Did a roughly 50 degree track turn to the right. A few turns, including a 360. Played a bit with dropping a knee but not much happened. Pulled at 3,500ft. Fumbled a bit for the handle but only for a 1s or so. Flared without radio signal at the right height but canopy doesn't generate that much lift so I landed on my knees.

Jump No: 32 Date: 16/03/99 Place: Headcorn Aircraft: Porter
Gear: Teardrop / COE-D 190 Altitutde: 11,500 Delay: 50s Total Time: 22m 39s
Manoeuvre: Turns, tracks, instability
Notes
  • Two 360 degree turns. The were too violent, should apply less force.
  • A good track, staight, bent at waist and rolled shoulders.
  • One front loop. Then went unstable a few times. Pulled and waved at 3,500ft.
  • Landed on my feet, if a little hard, no radio!
  • Missed arrow because wind was a little strong
N.B. Short spot. Tracked towards DZ to gain distance before pull. Missed declared target by a good margin as winds were higher than expected.

Notes
Curled up on exit and did a few front loops. Arched to stable. Did a few turns. Tried a few with my legs. Did some tracking. A bit steep I think. Nothing more form 4,000ft. Pull at 3,500ft. Did a 90 degree turn with rise at altitude. Landed a bit hard.

Notes
Rolling exit. Stabilised. Practiced getting arms further forward. Then de-arched and arched. Tried to sit-fly and failed. Tracked a little. Wave and pull at 3,000ft. Twists- kicked them out. Nice landing but about 50m short of the target. N.B. Also did some turns using arms and knees. Very fast. First time it's worked!

Notes
Unstable dive (ooops...), stabilised. Backloop. Tried a bit of sit-fly but couldn't quite get it. Front loop. Turns with knees and arms. Side slip. Short track. Wave and pull at 3,500ft. Flared a little high maybe but did land on my feet.

Notes
Exit ok then legs out. Responded to legs up and in good position. Good awareness. Ken fast fell and signaled to come down. Good fast fall and altitude awareness. Ken de-arched and signaled ok. Sort of de-arched but legs were out causing forward movement. Try extending arms. Good height awareness. Wave track and pull. Warp 3 next and incorporate one slow fall.

Manoeuvre: Slow fall and turns
Notes
Dive exit. Didn't keep it up and arched to stabe half way into it. But didn't loose stability. 2x slow fall. Turned to the right on one of them. Did a few turns- 360s by choosing a heading. Another slow fall. No more work from 5,000ft. Turned, tracked and pulled (4,500 -> 3,500). But turn wasn't a controlled 180. Flared too high and almost stalled it but got the damn arrow.

Gear: Teardrop / COE-D 190 Altitutde: 12,000 Delay: 50s Total Time: 28m 19s
Manoeuvre: Break offs
Notes
Curled up into a ball and did a front-looping exit. Stablised and did two practice pulls. Turned a little on the first but the second was ok. Concentrated on body position for a while then did 3x 180-degree-turn-then-track-for-3s. Wave and pull at 3,500ft. Landing was ok(ish) but too far from the arrow. Played a little with the risers. Left turn during opening- probably due to non-level shoulders. About 20m short of the target. Since I'm always short I should be turning earlier then S-off height if needed.

Notes
Mark RF. Rob CF - Ready-Set-Go!
Exit position flat - chest presentation a must to enable you to fall stable and on aircraft heading. Good recovery. First alti check at 10,500ft. First 360 (L). Good start. Push knee down left elbow up.. Oposites. Keep back straight and commit 100% to the turn. 2nd 360 (R) much better. Drifted off centre but recovered back to pin nicely. 3rd 360 (L) only using top half of body. Causes you to drift out. 6,000ft started to backslide away. Only slight but none the less remember to keep close in with formation. Gave legs out signal signal and you responded. 4,500ft.. Wave off. Track and pull. Repeat Warp 3. Observe track as kicking. Nice canopy control. Thanks for a fun skydive.
