FAQs
Archive of all the regular "Frequently Asked Questions" postings made in all the groups in Usenet, organized hierarchically by group. Check here before posting to a group for the first time, especially if asking a question or appealing for help solving a problem.

Google Groups
An archive of Usenet postings with a web based search system for retreiving finding and retrieving based on group, author, keyword, etc.

Usenet News is the on-line community's forum for public discussion and announcements. The system is made up of many thousands of different "news groups" (or just "groups" for short) which cover different topics. See the article "What is Usenet?" and the associated second opinion for details.

News has its own culture -- which it is important that you understand if you are going to participate. Before you make any postings you should read the advice to beginners which is available in the group "news.announce.newusers". Read the groups that you intend to post to for a while before jumping in and making a fool of yourself!
