Target patterns often arise when the cell culture is over 2 days old. The animated gif on
the right shows calcium images from 4 beats (the animated gif repeats after the 4th beat). These images
were obtained using calcium sensitive dye Fluo-3.
The animated gif image on the right may not be playing the correct speed. For
a relatively accurate sample, download the .avi (Windows movie format). The .mpg
format plays back faster than real time.
