Optical Mapping Background

Optical mapping is used to analyse complex spatiotemporal activation patterns in biological systems. We use optical mapping techniques to map activation in cultured monolayers of cardiac cells. We hope to relate activation patterns we see in cultured monolayers to cardiac disease states in patients. The following links give additional background information on various aspects of our work.
