Wireless Network

The Sherrington Building now has wireless networking installed in the library. You can get a good signal along the second floor corridor, including the Sherrington Room and Small Lecture Theatre. Services offered are Eduroam and OWL.

Eduroam allows you to connect to the Oxford network from any participating academic institution in the world using your remote access password (register at https://register.oucs.ox.ac.uk/self/index) Visitors from Eduroam-enabled institutions can use their own credentials (username and password) to connect to their home institution.

OWL allows you to connect to the Oxford network using VPN software and the remote access password.
It also allows short term visitors onto the internet using a visitor network username and password which departmental computing staff can arrange beforehand.

Details on how to connect are at http://www.oucs.ox.ac.uk/network/wireless/services/. If wireless proves popular we can provide more of it subject to funding from the department or research groups.
